Cockfield's Garden is a modern home and garden boutique dedicated to bringing  unusual  plants and merchandise  for  novice and seasoned plant enthusiasts as well as inspiration and education regarding use of the products in your living spaces.

Kneeling in the dirt beside my grandmother has been an inspiration since I was a child.  Cockfield's Garden came about when I stuck a rented tent filled with plants in a friends front yard during the APHN home tour weekend.  I stood in the sun all day selling and talking about plants with friends and visitors.  Shortly thereafter I opened a small space within The Book Merchant in Natchitoches.  It only seemed right to name my fledgling business after my garden inspiration, my grandmother, Eula Cockfield.

It has been several years since the bookstore closed and I had to feed my muse.  Through farmers markets, master gardener symposiums, antique and vintage fairs, countless visits to gardens  and garden shops on my travels and pure luck I  now  have a garden shop  in Kaffie Fredericks Hardware store in downtown Natchitoches.  Lucky Me! I continue to have customers from the tent sale as well as repeat customers who are visiting Natchitoches again or simply passing through.   I've expanded  my offerings to workshops, special classes, customized container designs, terrariums and vertical gardens , and hopefully soon, indoor acquatic plants.

The challenge of turning  plants into living pieces for  your home, garden and workspace  is a thrill.   I find it gratifying to explore  customers plant  questions and share information.  I continue to be intrigued by creating uses for  furry mosses, diminutive ferns, tillandsias and marimo aquatic moss balls .

The evolution from kneeling in the dirt to crafting small living worlds such as fairy gardens, terrariums, kokedama's, sharing my knowledge and inspiring my customer keeps me motivated and inspired.  Mama Eula would be proud.
